“Nightwing: The Series”

A few weeks ago I posted on my Facebook fan page about the upcoming fan-made webseries based on the character Nightwing, published by DC Comics. I stated then that, as a writer, and as a comic book fan, I’d like to work on such a project someday. After watching this first episode, that still stands—even more firmly now. If a paying job on a project like this came my way, I’d jump on it!

The makers of this webseries released Episode #1 on Monday of this week. Ending credits included, this episode is just over 8-minutes-long. It blew me away, though! I’ve never seen a webseries look so professional, or well-done. I’m amazed at what they’ve put together for this. I’d like to see this series run for a while. Heck, I’d like to see this series picked up by the CW, and worked into their “Arrow” and “The Flash” continuity!

Episode #1 is titled “Deathstroke”. For anyone not familiar with him, Slade Wilson—a.k.a. Deathstroke—is an assassin/hit man. His introduction into this webseries is, typical of the character, violent. So, you might not want to allow children to watch this. If you’re an adult, though, please check out what they’ve accomplished with this first episode. While I’m not affiliated with these guys in any way, I’m a huge DC Comics fan. Batman is my main character. And these guys are doing such a great job that I can’t help myself; I needed to do this shout-out regarding “Nightwing: The Series” as a comic book fan, and as a writer.
