Proof Negative

Issue_01_Cover_Pencils_Logo

The Issue #1 proof of “Confluence” arrived in today’s mail. Sadly, there are a few minor changes that need to be made to color tones. What looks good on a screen doesn’t always translate well into print. Desirée and I apologize for the further delay, but we’d rather hold off on the launch of the book, and put something good out there for the fans, rather than offer a sub-standard product for our readers. We hope everyone understands.

“Warder” Still Needs An Artist/Art Team

One of the myriad project that Desirée Lee and I are in the midst of is “Warder”. We plan “Warder” to be an on-going, bimonthly comic book series. It will be published via Umbral Press. Please see the photo/ad below for details on the project, and what we’re looking for.

Coming Soon…”Confluence”

Coming soon from Umbral Press (www.UmbralPress.com)

“Confluence” is a bimonthly comic book series. It is created and produced by award-winning, bestselling, critically-acclaimed paranormal authors Scott Harper and Desirée Lee (www.desireelee.com).

“Confluence” is a science fiction/fantasy mash-up. It focuses on Rue Preston, her best friend Nadine Larson, and the “town pest” Marvin Chambers after the trio is pulled through a dimensional rift to another world. The place where they find themselves is a nexus point where an unknown number of realities join. As such, the world where they have found themselves is a place where anything can potentially happen.

Ground Floor

Pred & Prey FINAL COVER 2482 pixls

Get in on the ground floor—advertise in the new comic book series “Wendy Markland: Chronicles Nocturnum”!

“Wendy Markland: Chronicles Nocturnum” is written, and lettered by award-winning, bestselling, critically-acclaimed author Scott Harper. Pencils, inks, and colors are by artist James Smith. Additional graphics are by bestselling author Desirée Lee. Issue #1 is ready to go to print! “Wendy Markland: Chronicles Nocturnum” is based on Scott Harper’s Wendy Markland novels.

We’re looking to fill eight ad pages in the first issue of “Wendy Markland: Chronicles Nocturnum”, bringing the page count up to the standard 32-pages, and off-set the printing costs. This project is being published by a new comic book publisher called Timeless Comics. The book will be launched locally, and grow from there. Because of the limited—for now—release, the rates for these ads are much, much lower than is typical for comic book ads. But advertisers still get the full impact of the name recognition of the team who put this book together!

Full-page ad—$50
2-page splash ad—$80

Any businesses in northern California or southern Oregon who would like to take advantage of this rare offer by securing ad space in the first issue of “Wendy Markland: Chronicles Nocturnum”, please contact project creator Scott Harper at Scott@scottharper.net.

Wrapped Comic Project Edits

Edits are done on the Issue #5 script for “MoonWraith”—www.MoonWraith.com—and the actual finished pages for Issue #2 of “Confluence”. What does this mean for fans of myself and Desirée Lee? It means good times are coming!

MoonWraith_Facebook_Header_Larger

Artwork will begin on Issue #5 of “MoonWraith” very soon, now that the script is good to go. Currently, Issue #4 is running on the site—a new page each and every Monday, just as you’ve come to expect. The pace of the story is picking up in Issue #4, and continues to do so in Issue #5. We know some of you were enjoying the all-out werewolf carnage action in the earlier issues. We did, too, and there will be plenty more of that to come in the future. For now, we’re getting into more dialogue-heavy pages that focus more on characterization, and plot development/forwarding. Some of these things are setting up for more of the werewolf horror/action that will come in the future. Now, onto another topic before I start tossing out spoilers!

Expect news regarding the official launch of “Confluence” in the near future. Desirée and I plan to release the series bi-monthly—assuming our personal and other professional obligations allow us to do so. Our plan is to offer each issue of “Confluence” both in e-format and print. As we keep saying, “Confluence” will be unlike anything you’ve ever read before. It will be a mash-up of science fiction and fantasy that we think all of our fans will enjoy. “Confluence” will be published via Umbral Press—www.UmbralPress.com.

Upcoming Interview

Issue_04_Cover

I just turned in a batch of material for a new interview. This interview will focus on comic book projects that Desirée Lee and I are currently involved with. The main focus of this interview will be “MoonWraith”—www.MoonWraith.com—and our upcoming new series, “Confluence”.

“MoonWraith” has been running for 70 weeks. During that time, we have seen over 40,000 hits. This past summer, “MoonWraith” was also optioned as a movie. Desirée and I want to thank everyone for your support of this project. Issue #4 just began this week. Keep reading, please, because there is a whole lot more to come!
