“Well Wishes”

Well Wishes Cover_HUGE

When the Princess of the Elven kingdom is taken by a Well Spirit, the Elven king enlists the aid of Avari, the heroic Water Nix who was instrumental in the fall of Veemox the Ur’hunglav only months before. After his attempt to free the Princess results in Fyrnn being taken by the same Spirit, along with the Princess’s best friend, Avari is off on an ocean voyage to a distant, near-mythical island with a reputation from which it earned its name – the Island of Death. Once there, he must confront the terrible creatures which haunt the island in order to bargain with the most powerful Well Spirit of them all to gain the freedom of the captive Elf women. But time is running out for the enslaved Elves. Will Avari make it in time?

Here are some things fans and reader have said about “Well Wishes“, the sequel to “Winter’s Rite“:

“This is a story of true heroism and devotion to others.”

“You can’t help but love this little Nix who doesn’t back down from danger when he sees someone in trouble.”

“Avari and Fyrnn have once again joined forces to save others. They were successful once, but this is a totally different enemy.”

“Along the way they meet many creatures, Water Faeries, Water Guardians, Bunyips and Dragons. Some are evil, and some are helpful and kind.”

“Wallykazam”

As you all know, Desirée Lee and I are the parents of a highly-intelligent 20-month-old (as of today!) daughter. Those of you who follow us on Facebook know her simply as Toddler Girl. In a past post on this blog, I explained why we don’t post her name, or photos, on-line. Anyway…

A while back we discovered a fantastic children’s television series on Nick Jr. called “Wallykazam”. Our daughter loves it. Although it’s’ a children’s program, Desirée and I quite enjoy it, too. “Wallykazam” is a fun, whimsical, and at times laugh-out-loud funny series that teaches small children vocabulary, word use, and problem solving. Here’s the opening title sequence of the show:

The main character of “Wallykazam” is a troll boy named Wally Trollman. In each episode, he goes on an adventure with his pet dragon Norville (who is much like a dog in most ways) and is typically accompanied by some mixture of his group of friends – Ogre Doug, Gina Giant, Libby Lightsprite, Stan of the Swamp, Betty Yeti, and Bobgoblin to name a few. Bobgoblin is sort of a friend/enemy in the show. Often, when things go wrong, Bobgoblin has either caused the problem, or makes whatever is going on worse. Bobgoblin is also Desirée’s favorite character in the show.

The teaching aspects of this wonderful show mix perfectly with the fantasy setting and characters to be a tailor-made fit for our household. We’re very glad of the show, and have the DVR set to record all showings of it. Even episodes we’ve already seen are most welcome.

Why am I talking about this children’s series here on my writing blog? Because I would be honored to work on an episode of it! Can anyone reading this help make that happen? If so, please get in touch with me via the “Contact” page of my website.

“Protect Yourself” By Eldritch Thorn

Eldritch Thorn is a fellow Umbral Press author and friend. He was the first person that Desiree and I extended an invitation to publish when we launched Umbral Press. “Protect Yourself” was written and released by Eldritch Thorn before Umbral Press opened its doors. Even had the book been ready after Umbral Press opened, it isn’t something we’d have taken on via the publishing house. “Protect Yourself” is non-fiction, and that’s something we aren’t publishing via Umbral Press. However, as Eldritch Thorn is a friend, I wanted to take a moment to let everyone know about this bestselling book by him as Halloween is approaching.

Protect_Yourself_Final_Cover

You can find “Protect Yourself” here. It’s a paranormal self-help book that deals all a wide variety of supernatural threats – astral entities, vampires, dragons, werewolves, demons, zombies, ghosts, etc. There’s even an entry in the book on angels.

Eldritch Thorn is a bestselling pagan author of non-fiction, and hardcore erotica. Follow the link for “Protect Yourself”, and you can search for his bestselling erotica novel “Lovers’ Veil”, and find it on the same site. Eldritch Thorn has years of paranormal investigation experience. He knows what he’s talking about in “Protect Yourself”! Some of the things talking about in the book are from his own, personal experiences. Most of what he discusses along those lines in the book are not pleasant! It’s because of things such as those that he wrote the book.

So, if you, or someone you know, is coping with a supernatural threat of some type, grab a copy of “Protect Yourself”. It may well hold the key to solving a bad situation.

Artist Call

Desiree Lee and I are still looking for artists, or art teams, for two comic book projects. One of those projects, “Warder”, is high fantasy. The other is titled “Ravenesque”, and is modern-day urban fantasy. Please see just below for information regarding “Warder”.

warderad_01_JPEG

Payment terms for “Ravenesque” would be the same.

Both series feature female protagonists. The following shouldn’t need to be stated, it ought to be pure common sense, but repeated occurrences of the problem force me to say it: Anyone even remotely interested in doing artwork duties for either “Warder” or “Ravenesque” needs to be very proficient at, and fully comfortable with, drawing females. Not to be blunt, but, if you’re not very proficient at, and fully comfortable with, drawing females, please do not waste your time, or ours, by by submitting work to us for either of these projects.

Artists interested in submitting for either series need to also be proficient and comfortable drawing an array of fantasy creatures – dwarfs, faeries, dragons, trolls, elves, gnomes, leprechauns, brownies, spirit beings, etc.

Please use the submission e-mail address listed above on the “Warder” ad flier for “Ravenesque”, too.

We look forward to reviewing the submissions!
