Desirée Lee & Scott Harper—Facebook

Desirée and I are often asked if we’re on Facebook. We both are, yes. Each of us has two pages—what I refer to as our “goof-off pages”, and our fan pages. I’ll refrain from sharing the “goof-off pages” here. If you want to learn about our fandoms—”EverQuest”, Batman, “Doctor Who”, “Star Trek”, “Star Wars”, etc.—you can find those pages on your own easily from our fan pages. As to the fan page URLs…

This Summer

During the summer of 2013, Desirée and I are going to have a lot going on in our lives. Some of these things are personal—those of you who visit our social networking pages probably already know part of what I’m referring to. Other things will be very public. Please stay tuned for updates on the latter.

R.I.P. Ray Harryhausen

Ray Harryhausen: June 29, 1920 – May 7, 2013

Mr. Harryhausen was a pioneer in the film industry, particularly in the field of stop-motion animation. I’ve been a fan of his work for my entire life. I’m sorry that he’s gone.

May 3, 2013 Sasquatch Recording

By now, I’m sure you all know of the sasquatch novel that I’m working on. Given that project, I want to share the occasional sasquatch recording on this blog.

This video was recorded by a Canadian researcher on May 3, 2013. I found the object throwing particularly interesting, having experienced it firsthand—although not to the degree claimed in this footage.

Sasquatch Holding

The sasquatch novel has hit a snag. As you know, I’m adapting it from the sentence outline of a screenplay project I had in the works. What works as a film doesn’t always work as a novel. I’m putting that project on hold for the time being, rethinking the pacing and subplots.

In the meantime, Desirée and I hard at work on a project we are coauthoring.

Video-based Writing Lessons

My plans are still to conduct writing lessons via video feed once Betterfly has that new service up and running. That should begin in the very near future. I can be found on Betterfly at If Betterfly ends up dragging their feet on this, I’ll begin offering the video classes on my own. I’m going to start off by offering 15 minute sessions at $20 each whether this goes through Betterfly or not. If this is something you’re interested in, please let me know. Remember, you’ll be learning from a critically-acclaimed, best-selling author with these video classes.
