“Finding Bigfoot” – Last Night

Finding_Bigfoot

Last night’s episode of “Finding Bigfoot” was indeed that one that Desirée Lee, and I attended the town hall meeting in Chiloquin, Oregon. We weren’t on-screen very much, but could be seen in several of the town hall meeting scenes scattered throughout the episode. Seeing us on TV like that was strange for me, to say the least! How many of you watched the episode, and saw us?

Anyone who missed it last night, but would like to see it, the title of the episode is “Squatching On Sacred Ground”. Watch your TV listings for Animal Planet for  a rerun of it.

“Finding Bigfoot” This Week

Matt_Moneymaker

It looks as if this week’s episode of “Finding Bigfoot” in the episode that Desirée Lee, and I attended the town hall meeting for. Unfortunately, time didn’t allow us – or anyone not of the local native tribes – to share any sightings accounts on-screen. Still, given where we were sitting during the taping, we ought to be visible on-screen throughout much of the town hall meeting scenes. That town hall meeting took place a bit north of here, in Chiloquin, Oregon. Check the episode out when it airs this Thursday night!

The photo was taken at the filming of the town hall meeting by a friend of ours. We didn’t even know he took the photo until the next day. Had we known he was taking it, we’d have posed with Matt Moneymaker for a picture, rather than this more candid shot!

“Finding Bigfoot” Update

Finding_Bigfoot

“Finding Bigfoot” returns with new episodes, kicked off with a 2-hour episode – on its new night beginning Thursday, March 31. This episode focuses on the Mount Shasta area, which is about 75 miles south of us here. From what we’ve heard, the episode that Desirée Lee and I should appear in – as live audience members – was the episode shot directly before the upcoming Mount Shasta episode. The show’s cast and crew filmed in Chiloquin, Oregon, and then headed south for Mount Shasta, California. The upcoming Mount Shasta episode probably isn’t the one we’ll appear in. We can’t say 100% for sure, though, given the close locals of what we expect would be two separate episodes. If this upcoming episode isn’t the one we’ll be seen in, “our” episode ought to air very shortly thereafter.

Turns out that last night’s episode of “Finding Bigfoot” wasn’t the one that Desirée Lee and I ought to be in. The next time we’re aware of an episode possibly being the one, I’ll make it known here.

“Finding Bigfoot” – Oregon

Matt_Moneymaker

For those of you who have been paying attention, you know that a few months ago my wife (Desirée Lee) and I were fortunate enough to be able to attend the town hall meeting for an episode of the hit Animal Planet television program “Finding Bigfoot“. That took place up in Chiloquin, Oregon.

When that episode airs, we’re pretty much guaranteed to be on-screen, given where we were sitting in the audience, and where the crew had people standing when they told their sightings stories. Most of the speakers were either directly beside, or directly behind us. At that filming, we were told that, tentatively, the episode would air in March. It looks as if this coming weekend’s episode is from Oregon. So, it might be “our” episode. As yet, we don’t know. But, I wanted to let you all have the heads-up – just in case!

Unknown Air Date

People keep asking when the episode of “Finding Bigfoot” that we attended filming for last week will air. As I explained in this post, we don’t know that at this time. From what we were told at the filming, that episode could tentatively air sometime this coming March. It’s up to Animal Planet, though. We’ll announce the actual air date for the episode when we know it.

“Finding Bigfoot”

Luckily, the weather cooperated yesterday. We had a little snow, but not nearly enough to keep us from the “Finding Bigfoot” town hall meeting up in Chiloquin, Oregon.

Although the entire process took longer than expected, making for a lengthy day, Desirée Lee and I had a blast. The tribal drumming and singing to welcome the “Finding Bigfoot” cast/researchers was stunning. There were some really great accountings of local sasquatch activity recounted by several of the people there. Anyone even passingly familiar with the television series “Finding Bigfoot” knows what a part of each show the town hall meetings, and the stories recounted at them, play.

Desirée and I have had one possible sighting right here in Dorris, California – yes, within the city limits. Just barely, but still within the city limits. And you all probably know of my accounts from Ohio years ago. We had hoped to talk about our probable sighting here in Dorris at the filming of the show yesterday. However, the episode is being slanted toward sightings/encounters by local native peoples. So, they were given first chance to tell about their own encounters with sasquatch. There were enough of those to fill the time. As a result, no non-natives got to speak. However, we did get the chance to tell each of the four cast members/researchers of the sighting afterward.

Getting to meet each of them – Matt Moneymaker, Cliff Barackman, Renae Holland, and James “Bobo” Fay – was a true pleasure. If you four are reading this: Matt, the surprise parking lot meeting caught me off-guard, but was truly awesome, and epic for me. Thank you most sincerely. Renee, thank you for the added helpful information, and we really do want to read the new book. Cliff, I meant what I said about not being at all sorry that you – via the show – taught our two-year-old daughter how to do sasquatch howls. And, once again, our heart-felt thanks to each of you for the autographs.

Though Desirée and I didn’t get to tell of our local sighting on camera, given where we were sitting during the meeting it’s almost a certainty that we will appear on TV when that episode of “Finding Bigfoot” airs. From what we were told yesterday, the air date for the currently-filming episode will be sometime during this coming March. I’ll let you all know, via this website/blog, when we know a more exact air date. The episode is centered on the Pacific Northwest, so please keep watch for it in your TV listings!

The above photo was taken yesterday by a friend of ours who was also in attendance. We didn’t know about the photo until today. It’s of Desirée and I standing with Matt Moneymaker after the filming. Had we known he was taking this photo, we’d have posed for it!

I talked in a post last week about the upcoming town hall meeting in Chiloquin, Oregon for the hit Animal Planet TV show “Finding Bigfoot”. That’s about 45 miles or so from us here where we live in northern California. We’re now under a severe weather advisory for this weekend – heavy winds, rain, and snow. Hopefully we can still make it up to Chiloguin for that meeting on Monday! Please keep watching for updates.

Town Hall Meeting

Finding_Bigfoot

Yesterday, Desirée Lee found out that the cast and crew of the hit Animal Planet series “Finding Bigfoot” will be filming not too terribly far from where we live in a couple of weeks. Anyone familiar with the show knows of the town hall meetings. Well, on the 16th of this month, one such meeting will be held up in Chiloquin, Oregon. See the article about it here. We’re making plans to attend. With us there, there’s a chance we’ll end up on-screen in the episode when it airs. Keep watching this blog/website for updates as this progresses.

As you all know, Desirée and I have a book in edits right now called “Hidden Tribe“. That book is a work of fiction, but it’s inspired in large part by real-life events surrounding at least one sasquatch I encountered while growing up in central Ohio. For those of you who aren’t familiar with those accounts, you can see a post here that went on-line several years ago listing them.

We are also members of a local sasquatch research group called State of Jefferson Sasquatch Research. If anyone has any sasquatch accounts, especially ones taking place in northern California or southern Oregon, please get in touch with me regarding those.
