Halloween Petition

Hello, all!

Sorry about the lack of posts going out here recently. There simply hasn’t been anything really to report. The writing progresses, but there hasn’t been anything to really talk about. And there hasn’t been anything of a paranormal nature that I’ve wanted to post here. Now, this morning…

It’s come to my attention that there’s a petition going around trying to get Halloween moved. The point of this, apparently, is to move Halloween – Samhain, for those of us who are pagan – from the last day of the month to the final Saturday of the month.

Samhain is a religious holiday for some of us. Let’s move Christmas to the last Saturday of December. How about that? No? Then leave Samhain alone, too! Again, it’s a sacred day for some of us. Have the common decency to honor that.

If you see the petition, please don’t sign it. Please speak out against it.

Blessed Samhain

Tomorrow is October 31st – Halloween to most. We celebrate it as Samhain here in our household. Regardless of how you celebrate the day, or if you do at all, I want to wish you all a wonderful day, and safe day!

“Within These Stone Walls” By Desirée Lee

Within These Stone Walls“, by my wonderfully talented wife, Desirée Lee

Danica Heuer gave her word to her Uncle Arthur on his deathbed. She would take her inheritance and buy a castle. The remark was flippant at the time, but now that Uncle Art is gone, she is honor-bound to keep that promise. The castle Danica buys turns out to be the boon she needed to lift her spirits. Majestic and dignified, she falls in love with her new purchase immediately. The majordomo is helpful and very informative about the castle’s rich history and lore. Things are perfect. Or are they? Danica’s dreams become tumultuous. Strange sounds in the night wake her. The longer she stays, the more hushed whispers she hears in town about her castle. What will Danica do when she discovers the terrifying truth about her castle, contained deep “Within These Stone Walls”.

“All Hallow’s Haunting” By Desirée Lee

Only 30 days until Halloween – the favorite holiday of myself, and my terrific wife Desirée Lee. That makes this the perfect time to grab a copy of Desirée’s novella “All Hallow’s Haunting“.

Teenagers Dane Grissinger and Kit Eisley never meant for things to go so far when they snuck into the Coulbourne cemetery on Halloween night. Dane’s idea of a seance to contact the wife and son that Silas Coulbourne had murdered seemed like a scary, but thrilling prospect for the night. When Dane disappeared during the ceremony, nobody believed Kit’s story that a ghost took him. Now, 10 years later, Kit is visited by an apparition claiming to be Dane. Kit must bring herself to deal with her ghosts from the past and find the truth about what happened to Dane on that fateful night. Some secrets, however, do not want to be unburied.

Halloween Is Coming

Halloween is just around the corner – a little over a month away. Given that, now is the perfect time to check out the paranormal self-help book “Protect Yourself: A Handbook for the Recognition of the Supernatural for Defensive Purposes“, by my good friend Eldritch Thorn.

The link I’ve included above is for Smashwords, trying to cut out middlemen, and boost direct sales for my friend. But the book is a bestseller over on OmniLit.

The book covers a wide array paranormal creatures, from Angels to Zombies. Check it out!

Blessed Samhain!

Blue Pentagram

Blessed Samhain to all of my fans, and readers! Today is my favorite day of the year. It’s Desirée Lee‘s favorite day, too. It’s known to most people as Halloween. We usually refer to it by it’s traditional name of Samhain.

For those of you not familiar with the true meaning of the day, please read on. Today has nothing to do with horror, or monsters. Samhain (pronounced Sow-in) was originally a festival celebrating the harvest time, and marking the beginning of the dark half of the year. It’s also a time when the veil between our world, and the spirit world is very thin. This thinning of the veil makes it easier to communicate with otherworldly beings, and makes it easier for those beings to visit our world. It’s a time of magick and mysticism, fun and revelry.

Yes, I know I spelled “magick” above with a “k” at the end. “Magic” is smoke and mirrors, sleight of hand illusion. It’s stage craft. “Magick” is the real thing. It’s the manipulation of energy to obtain a goal.

Again, I wish all of my fans and readers a very happy, safe, and Blessed Samhain – regardless of how you celebrate today, and even if you don’t!
