Blessed Beltane 2022

Blessed Beltane, everyone!

I know I haven’t posted here in months. I apologize for that. Both myself, and our daughter caught COVID-19. I’m still recovering from that. and our daughter picked up some bug at school, and shared it with my wife, and myself. So, at the moment, all three of us are sick. I will endeavor to post here more regularly in the future.

Being Wiccan – as all of you ought to know by now that I am; so are my wife, and our daughter – Beltane is a big holiday for us. I thought it was a good time to try to get back to regular, or at least semi-regular, posts here. Not pagan? Wondering what Beltane is? Go here to read about it:

Blessings to you all,

Halloween Petition

Hello, all!

Sorry about the lack of posts going out here recently. There simply hasn’t been anything really to report. The writing progresses, but there hasn’t been anything to really talk about. And there hasn’t been anything of a paranormal nature that I’ve wanted to post here. Now, this morning…

It’s come to my attention that there’s a petition going around trying to get Halloween moved. The point of this, apparently, is to move Halloween – Samhain, for those of us who are pagan – from the last day of the month to the final Saturday of the month.

Samhain is a religious holiday for some of us. Let’s move Christmas to the last Saturday of December. How about that? No? Then leave Samhain alone, too! Again, it’s a sacred day for some of us. Have the common decency to honor that.

If you see the petition, please don’t sign it. Please speak out against it.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today is a major holiday. So, let’s take a break from the usual posts here for one day. Let today just be me wishing my fans and readers a Happy Thanksgiving. No matter where you are. No matter how you celebrate today, or even if you don’t celebrate today as anything special. I hope that everyone, whether you’re reading this post, or not, has a safe, wonderful, joyous, happy day today. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Desirée Lee and I are hosting the holiday meal at our house this year. Today, it’s us, our 16-month-old daughter, and Desirée’s side of the family here. We have a crowd! My own side of the family is split between Florida and Ohio, mostly. Sadly, none of them are able to be here with us today. Maybe next year!

Again, I want to say Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. May this be a fantastic day for you all!

Happy International Talk Like A Pirate Day!

Before Desirée Lee first mentioned  International Talk Like A Pirate Day to me a few years ago, I had never heard of it. Honestly, when she first brought it up, I thought she was joking. Even when I realized that she wasn’t, part of me still had trouble taking the concept seriously. Once the concept finally became fully accepted by my brain, I still found it hard to believe.

Now, though, with a few years to get used to the idea, I’ve gotten more into it. While I don’t dress up as a pirate for the day, I will toss out the occasional “Arrr!” or make the odd comment about booty – typically of a flirtatious innuendo-style toward Desirée. Ahem… I want us to get the entire “Pirates of the Caribbean” series on Blu-Ray, and marathon them for Talk Like A Pirate Day. My plan had been to do so for this year – get them, at least; there won’t be time in the schedule here on September 19th to watch that many films in one day. However, upon learning that a new installment in that film series is underway, I’ve held off on buying the series. I’m thinking a nice Blu-Ray box set containing all of the films would be good.

Anyway, I wanted to wish all of my fans and readers a happy and safe Talk Like A Pirate Day.

And, this is also a great time to get another plug in for the incredible work of Mr. Tom Smith. As I’ve mentioned in a recent blog post, Desirée and I may well be working with Tom Smith on a project in the fairly near future. Both of us love his work. One song of his is very pertinent to today. That song is, of course, “Talk Like A Pirate Day“. Click the link. Listen to the song. Enjoy. Laugh. Repeat.

Happy Talk Like A Pirate Day, everyone!
