1st Review – “Hidden Tribe”

Hidden_Tribe_Cover

The new novel by Desirée Lee, and myself is our sasquatch book “Hidden Tribe“. It has its first review:

“As a field researcher and investigator of over 25 years in the fields of cryptozoology, ufology and parapsychology, I am affiliated with many groups out there and I have spent my fair share of time searching for the elusive creature that we most commonly know as Bigfoot. Since I was a child I read every book I could get my hands on pertaining to the subject. I read a lot of nonfiction books but every once and a while I will read a novel on the subject if it is well written and based on facts. Hidden Tribe is just that.

I recently read Hidden Tribe written by my gifted friend Scott Harper and his lovely, talented wife Desiree Lee. This booknot only held my interest but was written in a way that used documented factual information about the creatures to help tell the story and clearly shows tha tthe authors did their research and didn’t just follow the Hollywood cookiecutter image of a Bigfoot as a vicious monster loose in the countryside destroying everything and everyone in it’s path for no apparent reason.

The story was different as it showed the perspective of the creatures themselves and depicted the very real conflict of researchers and individuals in the field who hold different views and values on whether the creature should be killed or not.I appreciate a different kind of storyline and approach to the subject and feel that the writers of the story did a wonderful job making the reader enthralled better educated on the subject at hand and anticipating what is on the next page throughout the read.

I recommend this novel to anyone who likes a good tale and has an interest in the subject of Bigfoot. Keep up the great work Scott and Desiree and thank you both for depicting these mysterious creatures in a more serious and humanistic way. I can’t wait to see what you write next!”

“Hidden Tribe”

Sasquatch—they live peacefully in the forests, and woodlands. They want little, or nothing, to do with humans, and our civilization. As a whole, sasquatch are tranquil, quiet beings who live harmoniously with nature, and avoid us.

But what happens when humans refuse to return the favor?

Researcher Alexia Hollander is about to find out. When she ventures into the mountains of the Pacific Northwest, seeking evidence of the elusive species, things quickly get out of hand. Another researcher deliberately gets in Alexia’s way. Campers, and hunters bumble in, adding their own disruptive presence to the quiet work that Alexia wants to perform.

With their home territory invaded by humans, a mated pair of sasquatch keep the intruders under close surveillance. They aren’t happy about the presence of the trespassers, and want them gone. Just how far will these normally restrained beings go to protect their family, and themselves? Alexia, and her unwanted companions are about to find out!

Getting Ready

Hidden_Tribe_Cover

The new book coauthored by myself and Desirée Lee, “Hidden Tribe“, should be released in the very near future. No exact release date has been set yet, but look for that to happen soon. We’re having a book trailer made for the book, too. That will be ready to go when the book is out. Is everyone else as excited about this project as we are?

More Ideas

ravenesque

Not long ago I mentioned here the ideas I have that I’m planning to work into “Ravenesque: Un-Familiar”. Since I’ve set that outline aside, more and more ideas have been coming to mind. One of them will not play much of a role in this opening novella of the series, but will have far-reaching impact throughout the series itself. The more I think about this, the more excited I get about it. More and more I’m looking forward to wrapping up the outline for “Warder: Sometimes Magick Just Isn’t Enough”, and getting back to “Ravenesque: Un-Familiar”!

Patterson/Gimlin Sasquatch Footage

How many of you have seen the new stabilized analysis of the famous Patterson/Gimlin sasquatch film footage? It’s long been accepted that the creature in the film footage is a female. Some researchers have hypothesized for years that she had a young one somewhere nearby. A new stabilized analysis done on the film might have spotted the baby. It may have been recorded in the video along with its mother by Roger Patterson back in 1967, and only just spotted. See the new analysis right here.

This news comes as Desirée Lee and I are getting nearer to the release of our co-authored sasquatch novel “Hidden Tribe“. It’s a happy coincidence for us, but we’ll certainly take the increased interest in all things sasquatch!

Bunyips

Bunyip

Back in 2006, when I wrote my young adult book “Well Wishes” – a sequel to my first novel, “Winter’s Rite” – I included Bunyips in the story. They’re only in the book briefly – which is good, because those Bunyips taught me a very valuable lesson: never create characters that speak entirely in rhyme! Yet, those little guys have been very popular among my fans, and readers. However, they’re child-friendly fantasy Bunyips. Check out this article for some information about, and encounters that have been reported, regarding the Bunyips of myth and legend.

Dark Comedy

Dark_Comedy

Lately ideas have been bouncing around in my head for a new project. Whether it turns out to be a full-length novel, or a shorter novella, I don’t know yet. But I do know that I want to write this project. It’ll be a paranormal dark comedy. As I typically find comedy so difficult to write, this is apt to be a challenge for me. I hope I do the idea justice, and turn out a final product that you all find amusing. When I ran this idea by my wife, Desirée Lee, she gave me an odd look, laughed a bit, and called me “insane”, but claimed that the idea is “pure genius”. I hope so – on the latter point at least. Over the years I’ve learned not to debate the former. I’m a writer. Insanity is a prerequisite for what I do!

When will I start on this project? At this point I have no idea. I’ll keep making notes, and let the main plot develop itself while I’m working on other, more pressing, projects right now. I just wanted to let you know that this is in the proverbial pipeline. Many fans have asked for a comedy from me. As I said above, I find comedy very hard to write. So, I’ve never done one before. But I can’t imagine this project being anything else.
