Sit Down With Ed Brown

The interview I did last week with sasquatch researcher Ed Brown is now available on-line:

By now, you’re all probably familiar with these events. But this is the first time I’ve ever been interviewed about them, and talked about them like this – verbally – on-line.

As of this posting, I haven’t even had the time to watch this video yet. I’m told it turned out well, though.

“Paranormal Witness”

Paranormal_Witness

I didn’t start watching the hit SyFy program “Paranormal Witness” until just before its fourth season began to air. I set the DVD to record all episodes of it so I could catch up on what I’ve missed over the prior three seasons. Most episodes that I’ve seen deal with hauntings/ghosts. But not all. I’ve also seen an episode devoted to a very famous UFO sighting/abduction case. And, part of an episode that I watched yesterday was devoted to something of great interest to me – a werewolf case.

Growing up, werewolves terrified me. I could cope easily with anything else – ghosts, vampires, demons, zombies (which I’ve never been much of a fan of) genetic mutants, etc. But werewolves would give me horrible nightmares. Now, I work with my wife on the hit werewolf webcomic “MoonWraith“, and have written some werewolf literature, too. At some point over the years I’ve gone from being horrified of lycanthropy to being fascinated by it.

The “Paranormal Witness” episode in question was Season 2 Episode 10. The first half of it was titled “The Cabin”. It happened in London, Ohio in 1981, or 1982. I grew up in Marysville, Ohio, which is only about half an hour’s drive from London, Ohio. When the events covered in that episode of “Paranormal Witness” took place, I’d have been 6 or 7-years-old. I was never aware of this case until watching that episode of “Paranormal Witness” yesterday. Had I know about those goings-on as a child, I might still be in therapy, given my extreme werewolf phobia while growing up!

Now, as a 40-year-old adult, I find the case of great interest – both on a personal level, and a professional one as a bestselling, award-winning author of horror, and the paranormal. I don’t want to give spoilers of the episode here, and take anything away from “Paranormal Witness”. So I’ll only say here that the case involved a young family, who lived in a fairly secluded place, surrounded by woods, being stalked for months by what may well have been a werewolf. What the husband and his friend were shown at the close of the case gave me serious chills!

Given my interest in topics such as this, I want to, once again, extend an invitation to anyone reading this to contact me with any such sightings/encounters of your own. It needn’t necessarily be a werewolf sighting, either. I’m interested in all areas of the paranormal, and cryptozoology. Please get in touch via the “Contact” page on my website.

Call Update

The preliminary call involving the sasquatch sightings/encounters I had in Ohio took place earlier today. Please keep watching. Once the actual interview is recorded, and available on-line, I’ll be sure to share it here on this blog/website. The interview call itself is to take place next week.

“Newsweek” Sasquatch

Newsweek_Sasqutch

Who else has picked up their copy of the special edition of “Newsweek” that’s devoted entirely to sasquatch? I haven’t had time to read the entire issue yet, but we made sure to grab a copy. As you all know, due to experiences with at least one sasquatch that I had while growing up in Ohio, the topic is one of extreme interest for me.

Our thanks to Mr. Cliff Barackman for sharing news of this issue’s release on his Facebook page recently. Had he not done that, this might have slipped by without our notice.

My wife and I also have a book in the works dealing with that subject. It’s called “Hidden TribeHidden Tribe“, and is currently in edits.

Still Affected

Hidden_Tribe_Cover

By now, you’re probably all aware of my past sightings, and other experiences involving at least one sasquatch while growing up in central Ohio. If not, or if you just want a refresher, here is a telling of those events that went on-line several years ago.

A lot of people, after having a sighting of a sasquatch, will say something along the lines of “You’re never the same afterward.” This is very true. Seeing a sasquatch changes you. The sightings and other encounters I had happened over 1,000 miles away from where I now live, and over 20 years ago. I’m still affected by them to this day. I still wake up from sasquatch-inspired dreams, even full-blown nightmares. In fact, a good chunk of last night was spent wide awake after one.

Desirée Lee and I had both hoped that working on “Hidden Tribe” would help with such things. It hasn’t seemed to have done so. After so long, I really don’t know if anything will stop the dreams/nightmares. The sasquatch I encountered in Ohio wasn’t/weren’t (I assume it was one of them, but on one occasion, there had to have been at least two of them present) overly aggressive. There’s no reason that I can determine as to why I should still be so strongly affected by them so long afterward. Yet I am.

Part of me wants to see another sasquatch. Part of me hopes I never do. Desirée Lee has never seen one. Part of me hopes that she does. Part of me hopes that she doesn’t. While it would be great to share such a thing with her, as she’s my wife, and best friend, I don’t want her to deal with the lifelong lingering effects that such a sighting inflicts on a person. We live in northern California, just shy of the state border with Oregon. We’re in prime sasquatch country. I can’t be outside without looking at the wooded mountains around us, and knowing that there are probably sasquatch nearby. I’m always keeping my eyes open for them.

“Hidden Tribe” was inspired, in large part, by my own experiences with sasquatch in Ohio, though the book takes place in the Pacific Northwest, where we live, and is a work of fiction. Currently, the book is in edits. Working on it as a form of therapy hasn’t seemed to work for me. But it’s still been a pleasure to team up with Desirée Lee on this project. We both sincerely hope that our fans and readers enjoy the book upon its release.
