Before, I’ve been asked by models or photographers about using one of my books in a photo-shoot as a prop. By all means, please do. The only thing I ask is that you share the photos in which my book(s) appear.
Of my books that are currently available, I would suggest that the best one to use for such purposes is “Quintana Roo, Yucatan“. The paperback edition is large – 564-pages – and the book is an award-winning bestseller. The latter point would make it better known to anyone seeing the photo(s) in which the book appeared – if that matters to you for photographic reasons.

More and more I keep seeing lesser-known authors modeling their books’ covers after cover designs of major bestsellers. Personally, I don’t like this trend. It’s something that I sincerely hope you’ll never see me do. If you ever do see that on any of my books, it’ll only be because a publisher has completely overruled me on the point, and forced the cover through against my wishes and arguments. And, I ask that if such a thing ever does happen, that all of you contact said publisher, and complain and protest the cover, please.
Why do people copy such well-known covers? Do they think that people will think they’re buying a huge bestselling title, and buy their book by accident? Or are they just trying to link their release to something that’s far better known to the general public? I truly don’t know. But, again, I don’t like seeing it. It strikes me as a cheap trick to try and con readers into buying their book.
What do all of you think about this tend in book cover designs?

When I’m reading, I tend to get very absorbed in the book. I’m talking to the point where I’m simply not aware of anything else going on around me. It’s sometimes as if we rest of the world has faded away. Or maybe I have – into the book.
Other people tend to do this, too, but I don’t know just how common it is. How absorbed do you get in a book when you’re reading? How normal is it to be so into a book that it’s as if the rest of the world has gone away?

As an avid reader, and as a bestselling, award-winning author, I’m always curious about what other people are reading. At the moment I’m reading one book, and re-reading another. I’m reading “Dracula: The Un-Dead” by Dacre Stoker. I’m also re-reading “The Witch’s Coin: Prosperity and Money Magick” by Christopher Penczak.
What are all of you reading right now?
