This article was in my e-mail this morning. Given how many hits I still get on vampire articles I’ve posted in the past, I thought all of you might be interested in this one, too.

“The Nightmare” Revisited

The_Nightmare_Poster

It’s been nearly a year since I first posted about a documentary film project that was underway at the time called “The Nightmare”. When I first mentioned the project, the filmmakers were doing research into the subject of sleep paralysis. I had sent them information on my own experiences with it. For those of you who have never experienced sleep paralysis, consider yourselves lucky; it’s not fun. I don’t experience it often, but do so on rare occasions. My own experiences are nowhere near being on par with the people interviewed in “The Nightmare” who tell of their experiences in the film. So, my input wasn’t used in the project, alas. I just sat and watched “The Nightmare” on Netflix this morning. I must say, “m very glad my own experiences aren’t anything like those related in the film!

For anyone looking to learn more about the topic of sleep paralysis, or for anyone who experiences it themselves, I would recommend watching “The Nightmare”. I found it very interesting, and well done.

#FridayReads

#FridayReads is currently trending on Twitter. So, since I have nothing in particular in mind to post here today, I thought I’d might as well take advantage of the trend to remind everyone of my book titles that are still currently available:

Real Life Paranormal

Creepy_Woods

From time to time I share accounts on this blog/website of real life paranormal happenings or news. Some of those, especially those dealing with the topic of vampires, continue to receive a good deal of traffic even as older posts. So, I plan to keep sharing such things here once in a while. But, should I keep up the same level of such that I do now? Or should I share more things of that nature here? Which would you all prefer to see?

Dark Comedy

Dark_Comedy

Lately ideas have been bouncing around in my head for a new project. Whether it turns out to be a full-length novel, or a shorter novella, I don’t know yet. But I do know that I want to write this project. It’ll be a paranormal dark comedy. As I typically find comedy so difficult to write, this is apt to be a challenge for me. I hope I do the idea justice, and turn out a final product that you all find amusing. When I ran this idea by my wife, Desirée Lee, she gave me an odd look, laughed a bit, and called me “insane”, but claimed that the idea is “pure genius”. I hope so – on the latter point at least. Over the years I’ve learned not to debate the former. I’m a writer. Insanity is a prerequisite for what I do!

When will I start on this project? At this point I have no idea. I’ll keep making notes, and let the main plot develop itself while I’m working on other, more pressing, projects right now. I just wanted to let you know that this is in the proverbial pipeline. Many fans have asked for a comedy from me. As I said above, I find comedy very hard to write. So, I’ve never done one before. But I can’t imagine this project being anything else.

Little People

Fae

Several times before I’ve talked on this blog/website about my keen interest in the paranormal, and the unknown. This article turned up in my e-mail yesterday. As a bestselling, award-winning, critically-acclaimed author of fantasy, and paranormal, as well as my own firsthand experiences, I always find this type of thing fascinating. Many of my fans and readers seem to also. So, I wanted to share this with all of you.

Lon Strickler’s Cryptid Paperbacks

EncountersCollage5

My long-time acquaintance fortean researcher Mr. Lon Strickler now has four books out. Each of those titles, “Bizarre Encounters”, “Mysterious Encounters”, “Cryptid Encounters”, and “Strange Encounters”, are now available in paperback. Lon is the man behind the world-famous “Phantoms and Monsters” blog, and e-mail newsletter.

Lon graciously included my own accounts of the encounters with, and sightings of, at least one sasquatch in Ohio in his book “Cryptid Encounters”. Grab your copies of Lon’s books here for Kindle, or in paperback!
